I learned about a co-worker of one of my relatives who is also a believer in Christ who had noticed lumps near her breast. She shared her concern with my relative who strongly urged that she immediately call the doctor for an examination. Her co-worker heeded and called and got a same-day appointment. Upon her examination unfortunately she was informed that she had aggressive breast cancer at an advanced stage. She returned to her job afterward from her appointment tearful, stunned and devastated.
My relative began praying for her friend and shared her plight with me and asked if I would intercede for her co-worker as well and I did. However, during my time of prayer and intercession on her behalf the Holy Spirit prompted me to do something I had never done before or since. I told my relative to bring my sister in Christ my prayer shawl. She brought it to her along with specific instructions I had written (and she followed) on how she was to use it (and to not use it) in addition to her medical treatments. The instruction was to spread and to use it as a bed covering as she slept. I know now it was to serve as a God's tangible presence, his care, and HIS ability to grace and cover her with healing as she slept. Additionally, I trust, it gave her hope and something to cling to during her dark hours.
We have to come to an understanding that God uses any means even if it is out of the normal or ordinary to accomplish his purposes for our lives as well as the lives of others.
Now for the Good News! In time and after rounds of medical treatments I learned THAT GOD HEALED HER and she was medically pronounced CANCER FREE!!
